Dr. Susan E. Rice is currently a Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy and Governance
Studies at the Brookings Institution, where she is directing research on the
national security implications of global poverty and inequality. During the
Clinton Administration, Susan was Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs,
Special Assistant to the President, and Director for International Organizations
and Peacekeeping on the National Security Council Staff. In 2000, she was a
co-recipient of the White House's Samuel Nelson Drew Memorial Award for distinguished
contributions to the formation of peaceful, cooperative relationships between
states. Prior to her White House tenure, Susan Rice was a management consultant
at McKinsey and Company.
