Robert Kuttner, John Podesta and Richard C. Leone are serving as co-chairs of the event, sponsored by The American Prospect, the Center for American Progress, and The Century Foundation.
This conference represents a coming together of experts and practitioners who share grave concerns about the wisdom of the current course of America's foreign policy. Featured participants include, Fmr. Sec. of Treasury Robert E. Rubin, Rep. James Leach (R-IA), Amb. Richard Holbrooke, Fmr. National Security Advisor Samuel Berger, Fmr. Sec. of Defense William Perry, Fmr. Sec. of Transportation Rodney Slater, Amb. Joseph Wilson, Rep. Jane Harman (D-CA), Rand Beers, Ivo Daalder, Susan Rice and Jessica Stern among many more.
Panels will address how the current approach to national security is making America and the world less secure, and will propose alternative ways for the U.S. to defeat international terrorism, restore America to respected international leadership, fortify homeland security, stem proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and making the most effective diplomatic use of America's military and economic power.
