The American Prospect magazine, the Center for American
Progress and The Century Foundation Announce the Dates for the “New
American Strategies for Security and Peace” Conference
General Wesley Clark, Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski, and Senator Chuck Hagel will be among the featured speakers at a conference on new directions for U.S. national security. Robert Kuttner, John Podesta and Richard C. Leone are serving as co-chairs of the event, sponsored by The American Prospec magazinet, the Center for American Progress, and The Century Foundation.
This conference represents a coming together of experts and practitioners who share grave concerns about the wisdom of the current course of America's foreign policy. Panels will address how the current approach is making America and the world less secure, and will propose alternative ways for the U.S. to defeat international terrorism, restore America to respected international leadership, fortify homeland security, stem proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, create the right balance of military and diplomatic efforts, and repair the damage to U.S. alliances with friendly nations and the international community.
